SJW created a new program in 2024 to address a huge need in our community. Televerde Foundation does great work preparing incarcerated women for success upon reentry into our community through their PATHS program. But where do these women go when they don’t have family support upon exiting? Through collaboration with Televerde, the Andre Hosue and SJW, we created the Workforce Villages Re-entry Program.
WVRP provides a soft landing for 30-45 days where they not only enter a supportive environment, but they have the time needed to obtain quality employment. Once employed, they transition to our Workforce Villages program for 90 days when they will save the $5,000 they will need for their own apartment. This creates the sufficiency they want and without the need for government assistance like AHCCS paying for it. This is a shining example of multiple nonprofits coming together to solve a problem, maximize resources and build a better community. ABC 15 visited us in early 2024 to learn more about it.
