Meet Josh, our bell ringer of the week. Josh came to SJW while living at a sober living facility after being released from jail. Josh first heard about SJW from a friend in the community, and he immediately came for help securing a job. We were able to help Josh create a resume, find three job leads, and provide him a bus pass. The next day, Josh went and got a job with North Star Pipeline as a general laborer, where he’ll be working a full 40 hours a week! Congratulations Josh!

Meet Justin, our bell ringer of the week. Justin came to SJW from Mana House, a transitional house for veterans experiencing homelessness. Needing a job and a more stable home, Justin was the perfect candidate for the Employee Bridge Program (EBP). Through the EBP, SJW was able to provide Justin with housing, and reconnect him with a job at Copper State Bolt and Nuts Co. With housing secured, Justin is able to save the majority of his paycheck so he can soon find his own place to live. To those who might be in a similar position, Justin says “Keep your head up and utilize the resources available.” Congratulations Justin!

Meet Shelly, our bell ringer of the week. Shelly had been staying in a sober living facility, and after completing her IOP classes, came to SJW to look for employment. Shelly quickly found work at Arriba’s Mexican Grill, and with SJW’s help, has even obtained her food handler’s card, earning her full-time hours and a pay increase! “Because of #SJW, I was able to achieve what I need to maintain sobriety, employment and move forward with my family and life.” Congratulations Shelly!
