Are you planning a get together soon? Will you be inviting friends, family and colleagues to join you for a birthday, dinner, barbecue, or game night? or perhaps a golf outing or softball game?
Planning and holding a “Fun” raiser requires very little extra planning and organizing than any other gathering of family and friends you’ve likely done dozens of times before.
The primary distinction is that you are going to ask your guests to open their hearts to make a difference by supporting a cause you strongly believe in.
The most important part of “Fun” raising is to have fun, be creative with your ask. What type of entertaining are you planning? Who are your guests? What would they be excited to help support?
Along with cash donations, suggestions could include:
- Hosting a BBQ, ask guests to donate sunblock, hats, or water bottles.
- Planning a breakfast or dinner, ask guests to bring new socks, or razors.
- Organizing a golf outing, ask guests to bring gently used dress shoes and slacks.
- Planning a birthday party, ask guests to bring gift cards.
