Meet Cianni.
Cianni Walker is the type of individual who can instantly light up a room. When he moved to Phoenix, he left a toxic environment behind him, but soon found himself unhoused and struggling to land on his feet. Instead of accepting defeat, Cianni chose to persevere.
Cianni was able to secure a bed at a shelter, find a part-time security job and also contacted SJW’s Youth Employment & Resources program. Cianni made it very clear from day one that he had big goals and was ready to do anything to accomplish them. He received a bus pass to ensure safe and reliable transportation to his existing part-time job and support to obtain his AZ Guard Card from his company to help open more doors for him. Additionally, SJW provided job coaching, resume assistance and quality job leads which Cianni took full advantage of and accepted a full-time job with PalAmerican Security, earning $15.50 per hour.
Despite having a job, Cianni was still not satisfied and received a job offer from Allied Universal for another security position! He plans on growing with the companies and taking an eventual leadership role where he supports his coworkers.
Congratulations, Ciani!
