Sundt hosted a water drive that
brought in over 50,000 bottles of water!
Thirst Aid
As the summer heat approaches, please join St. Joseph the Worker in keeping homeless individuals hydrated. Consider hosting a water drive or donating bottled water.
  • Summer temperatures will reach 120 degrees.
  • In 2007, there were 50 heat-related deaths in the Phoenix area.
  • Homeless individuals are especially susceptible to heat-related illness and death.
  • Water will go to St. Joseph the Worker and the Human Services Campus, which provide services to over 1,000 homeless individuals each day.
Water donations are welcome throughout the summer.

Call 602-417-9854 or e-mail info@sjwjobs.org about donating bottled water.

Amy Cafferello St. Joseph the Worker's Executive Director, Amy Caffarello, received a Piper Fellow's Award from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust in 2009. The award is granted to Valley leaders to "retool, refresh and renew" their skills. As a result, Amy is on a six-week sabbatical that began on May 1, 2010. She is participating in professional development courses, visiting agencies in other cities that are doing similar work to St. Joseph the Worker, and the rest of the staff as well as the Board of Directors is eligible for development support. Through this Fellowship, Amy hopes to "learn new insights and strategies for St. Joseph the Worker to incorporate in to our program operations." For more information about the Piper Fellow's Program, visit the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust website, www.pipertrust.org
