St. Joseph the Worker Announces Grand Opening of the Maryvale Community Success Center
St. Joseph the Worker has reached many milestones throughout its 27 years of operation;
but July 8, 2015 will benchmark a different scale of growth for the agency
with the addition of a satellite center in the West Valley.
Phoenix, AZ (June 24, 2015) – St. Joseph the Worker pleased to announce the grand opening of the Maryvale Community Success Center. St. Joseph the Worker and Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) have developed a partnership to combine each agency’s expertise and experience, with St. Joseph the Worker providing its proven employment program on a daily basis at CPLC’s Maryvale Community Center (MCC) located at 6850 W Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85033.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to service the needs of CPLC’s job ready clients in the Maryvale community,” said Brent Downs, St. Joseph the Worker Executive Director. “Our new satellite location allows us to further strengthen our relationships with local residents and businesses by providing convenient access to our best-in-class employment services.”
St. Joseph the Worker’s location in CPLC’s Maryvale Community Center will provide women, men, and those with families that are experiencing hardships – such as homelessness or poverty, domestic violence, or addictions– with the education, individualized support, and basic resources needed to secure full time employment. Through this location, CPLC’s job-ready clientele will have access to quality employment resources. These include access to professional job developers, computers/telephone/internet access, a mailing address, bus tickets to job search or guarantee transportation to and from work, résumé development, professional clothing, hygiene products, and financial assistance to pay for work uniforms/shoes, certification/licensure fees. St. Joseph the Worker also focuses on improving job readiness by teaching effective job search strategies through its compelling Job Readiness Workshop. The entire program is open to everyone in need in the Maryvale community, free of charge, and offers a “hand up” to help create the path to a healthy self-sufficient future.

Open House and Grand Opening Ceremony, Wednesday, July 8th
St. Joseph the Worker will host an Open House on Wednesday, July 8th, from 9am to 3 pm with a special Grand Opening Ceremony scheduled from 10:00am-11:00am in celebration of the opening of their new satellite location. Community leaders, job seekers, local business representatives, as well as social service professionals interested in learning more about St. Joseph the Worker and their programs and services, are invited to attend. According to Patrick Winters, SJW Director of Programs, “St. Joseph the Worker is excited to have a physical satellite location in the Maryvale area!
